Anyone aged 12 and 2 months and above arriving from all countries by all means of transport must register in advance of travel by completing the “Ehranica” form on the Slovak government’s website.

After entering the territory of Slovak Republic the quarantine shall end by completing its 10th day in the case of an asymptomatic course. The quarantine also ends upon receiving negative result from an RT-PCR test performed on 5th day at the earliest. The Quarantine does not apply to a fully vaccinated person. The definition of a fully vaccinated person is issued by the Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic. The following persons are considered to be fully vaccinated:

  • a person vaccinated with both doses of a two-dose vaccine if at least 14 days but not more than 12 months passed since receiving the second dose,
  • a person vaccinated with the first dose of a single-dose vaccine if at least 21 days but not more than 12 months passed since receiving the first dose, or
  • a person vaccinated with the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine if at least 14 days but not more than 12 months passed since receiving the first dose and if vaccination was received within 180 days of overcoming COVID-19

Upon entering the territory of the Slovak Republic the status of a fully vaccinated person can either be proved by a COVID pass or another national certificate of a third country, which should contain information on name, surname, date of birth, name of vaccine and its manufacturers, order of vaccination, total number of vaccinations, substance and the date of the last vaccination. The national certificate must be stamped by the competent authority of the country or electronically verifiable and also must be drawn up in English. A person who fails to prove this way shall not be considered as a fully vaccinated person.

Anyone entering the territory of the Slovak Republic for the necessary purpose of obtaining a work permit and other related documents for the profession of public transport driver and truck driver in the Slovak Republic shall be exempt from quarantine if they can prove this cause upon entering the territory of the Slovak Republic by a confirmation. However, at the same time, these must have a negative PCR test result not older than 72 hours.
